The Level of Psychological Well-Being and its Relationship to Psychological Exhaustion and Some Demographic Variables Among Kindergarten Teachers in Jazan region

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the level of psychological well-being and psychological exhaustion among kindergarten teachers, reveal the nature of the relationship between psychological well-being and psychological exhaustion, verify the differences in psychological well-being attributed to the variables of age and marital status, and reveal the possibility of predicting psychological exhaustion through the dimensions of psychological well-being among kindergarten teachers in the Jazan region. The researcher used the descriptive correlational predictive approach, as the research sample consisted of (202) female teachers; from kindergarten teachers in the Jazan region, who were selected by a simple random method during the academic year 1446 AH, and to achieve the research objectives, measures of psychological well-being and psychological exhaustion were used, and the data were processed statistically using the (SPSS) program. Using a one-sample t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, skewness and kurtosis coefficient, and multiple regression analysis, the research results showed a low level of psychological exhaustion (dimensions and total score), a high level of psychological well-being (dimensions and total score), and a statistically significant negative relationship between psychological exhaustion and psychological well-being. As shown by the regression analysis of variance, psychological exhaustion can be predicted through the dimensions of psychological well-being, there were statistically significant differences in psychological well-being (independence, environmental empowerment, personal growth, purposeful living, and total score) attributed to age, while there were statistically significant differences in the dimension of "positive relationships with others" attributed to age. There were also no statistically significant differences in psychological well-being (dimensions and total score) attributed to marital status.

الملخص

هدف البحث الحالي إلى التعرف على مستوى الرفاهية النفسية والإنهاك النفسي لدى معلمات رياض الأطفال، والكشف عن طبيعة العلاقة بين الرفاهية النفسية والإنهاك النفسي، والتحقق من الفروق في الرفاهية النفسية التي تعزى لمتغيري العمر والحالة الاجتماعية، والكشف عن إمكانية التنبؤ بالإنهاك النفسي من خلال أبعاد الرفاهية النفسية لدى معلمات رياض الأطفال بمنطقة جازان؛ استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي التنبؤي، حيث تكونت عينة البحث من (202) معلمة؛ من معلمات رياض الأطفال بمنطقة جازان، تم اختيارهن بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة خلال العام الدراسي 1446هـ، ولتحقيق أهداف البحث تم استخدام مقاييس الرفاهية النفسية والإنهاك النفسي، وتمت معالجة البيانات إحصائيا عن طريق برنامج (SPSS) باستخدام اختبار (ت) لعينة واحدة، ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون، ومعامل الالتواء والتفلطح، وتحليل الانحدار المتعدد؛ وتوصلت نتائج البحث إلى وجود مستوى منخفض من الإنهاك النفسي (الأبعاد والدرجة الكلية)، ووجود مستوى مرتفع من الرفاهية النفسية (الأبعاد والدرجة الكلية) ووجود علاقة سلبية دالة إحصائيا بين الإنهاك النفسي والرفاهية النفسية. وكما تبين من تحليل تباين الانحدار؛ إمكانية التنبؤ بالإنهاك النفسي من خلال أبعاد الرفاهية النفسية، ووجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في الرفاهية النفسية (الاستقلالية، والتمكن البيئي، والنمو الشخصي، والحياة الهادفة، والدرجة الكلية) تعزى للعمر، في حين توجد فروق دالة إحصائيا في بعد "العلاقات الإيجابية مع الغير" تعزى للعمر. كما أسفرت عن عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في الرفاهية النفسية (الأبعاد والدرجة الكلية) تعزى للحالة الاجتماعية.
