Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the perceptions of design students at the College of Design and Applied Arts at Taif University of Saudi Arabia using an experimental art therapy program. The experimental user used pre- and post-tests on the creations of (30) students. A scale for students' perceptions of art therapy was administered before and after the study. There were statistically significant results and application trends across all scale axes (general knowledge, innovation and attitude, and perception of social benefits). The results also included positive correlations among all of them. These results confirm the effectiveness of the training program in achieving the therapeutic role of art therapy and the abundance of therapeutic and psychological benefits, which contributes to enhancing their advanced academic abilities.

الملخص

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى استقصاء أثر برنامج تدريبي في العلاج بالفن التشكيلي على تغيير تصورات طالب التصميم الداخلي بكلية التصاميم والفنون التطبيقية في جامعة الطائف. استخدم الباحث المنهج التجريبي بتصميم القياس القبلي والبعدي على عينة مكونة من (30) طالباً. تم تطبيق مقياس تصورات طالب التصميم الداخلي نحو العلاج بالفن قبل البرنامج وبعده. أظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية لصالح التطبيق البعدي في جميع محاور المقياس (المعرفة العامة، القبول والاتجاه، إدراك الفوائد النفسية والاجتماعية). كما أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقات ارتباطية موجبة بين جميع المحاور. تؤكد هذه النتائج فاعلية البرنامج التدريبي في توسيع إدراك الطالب لدور العلاج بالفن التشكيلي كوسيلة علاجية ونفسية، مما يسهم في تعزيز قدراتهم الأكاديمية والمهنية.
