Abstract

This study aims to analyze the royal speech delivered by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at the opening of the third year of the eighth session of the Shura Council (1444H), through a pragmatic lens that reveals the underlying structure of political language in the Saudi context. It adopts a pragmatic discourse analysis approach, focusing on speech acts, deixis, presuppositions, implicatures, and argumentation, supported by quantitative representation. The findings indicate the strategic use of pragmatic tools in the speech: seventeen speech acts, fifteen deictic expressions, nine presuppositions, six implicatures, and eleven instances of argumentation. This reflects a deliberate and context-sensitive deployment of language to ensure clarity, persuasion, and political efficacy. The speech effectively combines formality and interactivity, leveraging discourse context to convey impactful political, social, and economic messages. The study recommends expanding pragmatic research to encompass broader and more diverse corpora of official speeches, and to integrate qualitative and quantitative analyses. Such efforts would contribute to unveiling the persuasive structure of contemporary Arabic political discourse and enhancing the role of pragmatics in language and media studies.

الملخص

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل الخطاب الملكي الذي ألقاه خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود في افتتاح أعمال السنة الثالثة من الدورة الثامنة لمجلس الشورى (عام 1444هـ)، وذلك من منظور تداولي، للكشف عن البنية التداولية للخطاب السياسي السعودي. وقد اعتمدت الدراسة منهج تحليل الخطاب التداولي، واستندت إلى آليات مثل الأفعال الكلامية، والإشاريات، والافتراضات المسبقة، والاستلزام الحواري، والحجاج، مع التمثيل الكمي لكل آلية. وانقسمت الدراسة إلى قسمين: الأول نظري، تناول مفهوم التداولية وعلاقتها بالبلاغة الجديدة؛ والثاني تطبيقي، حلّل الخطاب الملكي وبيّن كيفية توظيفه لآليات التداولية لتحقيق أهدافه السياسية والإعلامية. وأظهرت النتائج أن الخطاب احتوى سبعة عشر فعلاً كلامياً، وخمسة عشر مؤشراً إشارياً، وتسعة افتراضات مسبقة، وستة استلزامات حوارية، وأحد عشر أسلوباً حجاجياً، مما يدل على الاستخدام المدروس للأدوات التداولية لتحقيق الأثر الاتصالي والإقناعي. وقد اتسم الخطاب بالجمع بين الطابع الرسمي والتفاعلي، مع توظيف السياق والمقام لتعزيز وضوح الرسائل السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية. وتوصي الدراسة بتوسيع نطاق الأبحاث التداولية لتشمل مدونات متنوعة من الخطابات الرسمية، وربط التحليل الكيفي بالتمثيل الكمي، مما يسهم في تفكيك بنية التأثير في الخطاب العربي المعاصر، ويعزز حضور التداولية في دراسات اللغة والإعلام.
