Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to examine the effectiveness of a proposed educational unit based on design thinking in enhancing creativity and creative problem-solving skills among students enrolled in the Early Childhood Social Studies course at Umm Al-Qura University. The research problem was articulated in the following question: What is the effectiveness of a proposed educational unit based on design thinking in enhancing creativity and creative problem-solving skills among students of the Early Childhood Social Studies course at Umm Al-Qura University? The study employed a quasi-experimental approach with a pre-test/post-test design, applied to a sample of 50 students purposefully selected from the course. The researcher developed study tools, including a guide for the proposed unit and two scales: one for measuring creativity and the other for creative problem-solving skills. After the implementation of the unit, data analysis revealed the effectiveness of the proposed unit based on design thinking in enhancing creativity and creative problem-solving skills, favoring the experimental group. Furthermore, a positive correlation was identified between creativity and creative problem-solving skills among the students after the application of the unit.

الملخص

هدفت الدراسة بشكل رئيسي إلى الكشف عن فاعلية وحدة تعليمية مقترحة وفق التفكير التصميمي في تنمية القدرة على الابداع وحل المشكلات الإبداعي لدى طالبات مقرر الدراسات الاجتماعية في الطفولة المبكرة بجامعة أم القرى، وتم تحديد مشكلة الدراسة في السؤال التالي: ما فاعلية وحدة تعليمية مقترحة وفق التفكير التصميمي في تنمية القدرة على الابداع وحل المشكلات الإبداعي لدى طالبات مقرر الدراسات الاجتماعية في الطفولة المبكرة بجامعة أم القرى؟ وتم اعتماد المنهج شبه التجريبي ذو التصميم القبلي/ البعدي للتطبيق على عينة بلغت (50) طالبة من طالبات المقرر، اللاتي تم اختيارهن بطريقة قصدية، وأعدت الباحثة أدوات للدراسة تمثلت في دليل للوحدة المقترحة، ومقياسين أحدهما للقدرة على الإبداع والآخر لحل المشكلات الإبداعي، وبعد انتهاء التطبيق تم تحليل البيانات للحصول على النتائج التي توصلت إلى وجود فاعلية للوحدة المقترحة وفق التفكير التصميمي في تنمية القدرة على الابداع وحل المشكلات الإبداعي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية، ووجود علاقة ارتباطية طردية موجبة بين القدرة على الابداع وحل المشكلات الابداعي لدى الطالبات بعد تطبيق الوحدة.
