Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of teaching performance among science teachers in light of fostering professional inclinations toward future careers among middle school female students. The descriptive survey method was employed Seven domains of future careers were identified, and teaching performance standards were defined, comprising six criteria: objectives, scientific content, teaching methods and strategies, educational technology, learning activities, and assessment.Based on these criteria, an observation checklist was developed and administered to a random sample of 20 middle school science teachers in Tabuk. The findings revealed that the teaching performance of science teachers, in relation to promoting professional inclinations toward future careers among their students, was at a “moderate” level, with an overall mean score of 2.91.The study recommended the necessity of training science teachers in methods and approaches for developing their students' professional preferences toward future careers.

الملخص

هدف البحث إلى معرفة مستوى الأداء التدريسي لمعلمات العلوم في ضوء تنمية الميول المهنية نحو مهن المستقبل لدى طالبات المرحلة المتوسطة، حيث اتبع المنهج الوصفي المسحي، وتم تحديد (7) مجالات لمهن المستقبل ، كما تحديد معايير الأداء التدريسي وتكونت من (6) معايير هي الأهداف، المحتوى العلمي، طرق واستراتيجيات التدريس، تكنولوجيا التعليم، الأنشطة التعليمية، والتقويم، وفي ضوئها تم بناء بطاقة ملاحظة طبقت على عينة عشوائية مكونة من (20) معلمة من معلمات العلوم في المرحلة المتوسطة بمدينة تبوك، وتوصل البحث إلى أن الأداء التدريسي لمعلمات العلوم في ضوء التنمية المهنية نحو مهن المستقبل لدى طالباتهن جاء بمستوى " متوسط" ؛ حيث بلغ المتوسط الحسابي للأداء التدريسي الكلي (2.91) ، وأوصى بضرورة تدريب معلمات العلوم بالمرحلة المتوسطة على طرق تنمية الميول المهنية لدى طالباتهن نحو مهن المستقبل.
