Abstract

The manufacture of sustainable children's garments-particularly reverse-style transformative clothing-has recently emerged as an innovative approach aimed at maximising utilisation efficiency by designing multifunctional products that prolong service life and reduce waste. The significance of this study lies in preparing female students to engage with the rapid advancements in sustainable apparel production, thereby strengthening their capacity to meet the demands of a modern labour market that increasingly values innovation and sustainability. The study sought to design an instructional unit that would enhance students' knowledge and skills in producing sustainable, reverse-transformative children's clothing, and to implement the unit in order to assess its effectiveness and capture students' perceptions. A mixed-method research design combining descriptive-analytical and experimental approaches was employed. Results indicated statistically significant differences between pre- and post-tests in favour of the post-test for both cognitive and practical performance measures. Moreover, students expressed positive attitudes toward the instructional unit. In light of these outcomes, the study recommends developing additional instructional units within sustainable children's apparel courses to further consolidate students' technical competencies and enable them to keep pace with evolving labour-market requirements.

الملخص

يعد تصنيع ملابس الأطفال المستدامة، لا سيما الملابس التحويلية بالأسلوب المعكوس توجهاً حديثاً، تهدف إلى تحسين كفاءة الاستخدام عبر تصميم منتجات ملبسية متعددة الوظائف تطيل عمرها الافتراضي وتقلل الفاقد، وترجع أهمية البحث إلى تأهيل الطالبات للتفاعل مع التطورات المتسارعة في صناعة الملابس المستدامة، مما يعزز من قدرتهن على تلبية متطلبات سوق العمل الحديث الذي يشهد اهتماماً متزايداً بالابتكار والاستدامة، ويهدف البحث إلى تصميم وحدة تعليمية لتنمية معارف ومهارات الطالبات في تصنيع ملابس الأطفال المستدامة التحويلية بالأسلوب المعكوس، وتطبيقها لقياس فعاليتها وآراء الطالبات حولها، واعتمد البحث على المنهجين الوصفي التحليلي والتجريبي، وكشفت النتائج عن فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين التطبيقين القبلي والبعدي لصالح البعدي في كل من الاختبارين المعرفي والمهاري، كما أظهرت الطالبات آراء إيجابية تجاه الوحدة التعليمية، وأوصى البحث بتطوير وحدات تعليمية أخرى في مقررات تصنيع ملابس الأطفال المستدامة لتعزيز المهارات العلمية للطالبات وتمكينهن من مواكبة متطلبات سوق العمل.
