Abstract

This study examines the instances in which commentators on al-Tashil pointed to what appears to be a difference between Ibn Malik's statements in Tashil al-Fawa'id wa-Takmil al-Maqasid and his Sharh al-Tashil. It aims to analyze these judgments and assess their validity considering textual context and grammatical methodology. Adopting a descriptive-analytical approach, the study correlates the concise formulations of the Tashil with their expanded explanations in the commentary and traces the criteria employed by the commentators in identifying difference or inconsistency. The findings indicate that most cases described as contradiction do not constitute genuine inconsistency. Rather, they result from variation in expression, differences in levels of exposition, shifts between generalization and specification, or reliance on apparent meaning versus interpretive analysis. In some instances, the apparent difference reflects a development or stabilization of Ibn Malik's views, as confirmed by his other grammatical works. The study concludes that these cases affirm the value of a holistic approach to Ibn Malik's works, combining the text, its commentaries, and his broader scholarship.

الملخص

يهدف هذا البحث إلى تقصّي المواضع التي رأى شُرّاح التسهيل فيها اختلافاً أو تباينا بين عبارات ابن مالك في التسهيل وشرحه، من خلال جمع هذه المواضع وتحليلها، ومقارنتها بأقوال الشُّراح؛ للكشف عن طبيعتها وأسبابها. واعتمد البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، مستنداً إلى استقراء النصوص، وربط المتن بالشرح، وتتبع توجيهات شُراح التسهيل. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن ما نُسب إلى ابن مالك من اختلاف لا يخرج – في غالب المواضع – عن كونه اختلافاً في الصياغة، أو تقييداً بعد إطلاق، أو تفاوتاً في مراتب البيان. وقد يتعلّق أيضاً بتطور في تقرير الرأي، ولا يبلغ في معظمه حدّ الاختلاف الحقيقي. كما أن الإيجاز الشديد في التسهيل قد يوهم اختلافاً في الحكم يزول عند الرجوع إلى الشرح، وأن بعض نصوص ابن مالك في بعض مصنفاته المتأخرة تمثل مرحلة استقرار لآرائه. ويخلص البحث إلى أن هذه المواضع تمثل مدخلاً مهماً لفهم منهج ابن مالك في بناء القواعد، وتؤكد ضرورة قراءة نصوصه قراءة مشولية تجمع بين المتن والشرح وسائر مؤلفاته.
